The missing Zapruder film

Abraham Zapruder was a Dallas manufacturer of dresses. While he might have made some nice dresses (probably selling on eBay right now), Zapruder is more well-known for capturing a tragic moment in American history that to this day still has no clear resolution. On November 22, 1963, Zapruder was standing in downtown Dallas with his secretary waiting to catch a glimpse of President John Kennedy and his wife Jackie as they rode bye. Holding his 8mm Bell & Howell camera, Zapruder began filming the motorcade as they turned into Dealey Plaza.... and the rest, as they say, is history.

What is not well-known is that Zapruder had a hobby of filming cars around the state of Texas. It has been recently discovered that Zapruder also filmed another famous automobile "incident" a scant 16 days before JFK went to Dallas -- on November 6, 1963 in Midland, Texas.

With the Kennedy film taking all his time, Zapruder completely forgot about this short 1 minute 40-second movie and its historial significance. After his death in 1970, his daughter found the 8mm film hidden in a vault. Not wanting to stir up controversy, NotJenna Zapruder kept the film secret for many years, but decided just recently to release the tape - in theatrical format - as a wedding gift to a certain first daughter.
