Raising the Circulation - of Newspapers

When the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) release 3rd quarter newspaper circulation figures recently - the numbers showed a continuing downslide in readership. Venerable bastion of "journalism" like the New York Times, The Washington Post, the Boston Globe all continue to bleed readers. Even the world's greatest dog poop wrapper - the New York Post suffered a steep drop. Only Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal showed any increase - another tribute to people who really run America.

Well if the papers were smart (and they aren't) - there is way to reverse these stiff declines and get that circulation going again. They did in Sweden:

It is highly unlikely Kay Bailey Hutchison was pictured on that paper

other countries have so much better commercials than we have here. i can't and don't want to imagine shamwow vince or the video professor doing ads like that.

Fabulous. And yes, you are right, Kay Bailey Hutchinson? Wood killer.

It should be noted that Sweden uses the smaller format newspapers.

As quarter Swede/American, I approve. Whatever works, make it happen. Actually it would be simple: make newspaper subscriptions mandatory in schools, K-16+

Then find sponsors to pay for the subs. And feature issue on Oprah's "Newspaper Club" . . .

p.s. whatever happened to poor Aaron Brown? I did promote newspapers. I actually liked his show back in 2003.

Getting rid of the rightist bias in those papers would help their circulation too.
